Hello from DFW

Hello to all. I got interested in arrowheads about 4 months ago. I went with my Dad to visit his cousin on the farm he was raised on near the Leon River in Tx. The cousin was telling us that there was an Indian camp on the land and there are tons of arrowheads all over.

We went walking around the land and found 3 arrowheads within about an hour. 2 are broke in half and 1 is in very good condition but the tip is broken off. There are also 2 metates on the side of a hill and a flat rock formation in an oval shape.

I have been hooked since then.

I would love to meet other hunters in my area and find out some areas in Nort Texas were other hunters have found points.

When we go back I will take some pics and post them. We found arrowheads and 2 metates (the land owner wants to keep the metates!).

Last time we were there we found tons of little flat rocks with holes through them. I didnt know what they were so I would just throw them back down. Now that I have been looking at artifacts on this site, I think they may have been arrow straighteners/shavers.

We found some pottery flakes in a creek but I figured they were just modern pottery that was weathered, so I didnt bother with them. I will pick some up next time and investigate a little further.

I also found lots of small flint flakes on the hillsides. I think now I will look at the top of the hills, and maybe see if i can dig a few holes.
