Small retouched/curated blade. Seems to have been on its way from a knife to, possibly, a limace. Seeing the other side would be helpful.

I was seeing that possibility too (of it being a possible limace) but the curvature convinced me otherwise.

Yes and no. Some of them have the tips worked into downward curved points for scraping/digging narrow holes. And some curvature doesn't seem to have been a problem. If I could take pictures & post them I'd illustrate that. But alas . . .

The other side is only worked on the edges, all the way around. The center portion is smooth and glossy. Iím not familiar with a Limace, what is that?

It's a slug-shaped, unifacial tool. It has been described here as having the shape of a cigar cut in half length-wise. Each piece would resemble a limace.

Think of it more like a road with forks. One end can be modified for hafting. Or, not. Or modified into an endscraper. One end can be a tiny chisel edge ("flakeshaver"). Which will break if it's used very long/vigorously. Or worked into an awl . . . Whatever need came along dictated its trajectory (which forks it took).

    Clearer ?

Don't make me lie! I guess I'm getting it confused with all the tools you mentioned because it doesn't necessarily fit a specific shape. I believe I have a better understanding though. Thanks Mr. Bill.
