    Glue residue?

Found this quartzite piece today it has damage on it from the plow. Normally I wouldnt keep this but it looked to have something on it so I figured I would ask the experts before I toss it. If its the NA glue I will display it in my 2017 frame. N GA find, thanks

Does it flake off at all?, could be pitch or asphaltum.

I will take it to the show in a couple of weeks and let some look at it to see what they say. Its a shame its broken I found it in the same spot as my last point find. I have found plenty of artifacts in that section just none with the black pitch on them before. Thanks

If it's of any consequence, I find similar pieces in campsites also. During the reduction process, the quartz will fracture along those "veins" of manganese. I still think it's a cool piece.
