Weekend finds. Few wholes, few brokes....

Here are the finds from my last few hunts this wknd. Found a couple pretty birdies, and this caddo knife.Found this flint with a drilled hole, but is broken, whatever it is. And this neat little piece of pottery. And whatever kinda pottery this is. Didnt get to look but a hour one day, my daughter stepped on a catfish and the barb went about 2 inches in her foot, That was real fun trying to get out, daughter screaming, wife panicing, litttle boy did'nt know what to think... I really like the color of the brown spotted one, wish it was'nt broke

Great stuff there! Ouch, on your daughters foot. Why are the barbs so hard to remove? Are they themselves barbed?

Yep speed the side barbs on a catfish are like a fishing hook. They have several barbs on each spine. You HAVE to jerk it out. And hope it don't break off in ya. But try telling that to a screaming girl.

Awesome material on some of those. I remember we had a class where we were running gill nets, and the guy next to me had the barbs go up the webbing between his thumb and forefinger. You could hear every barb as it popped out. Yet the big blues and flatheads we handgrab don't hurt, just the little channels. I can't imagine trying to pull that out of my daughter's foot. She must be one tough cookie. I would have had to sedate any of my kids. I have enough trouble getting a dang splinter out.

Yep rookie those barbs are Pretty rough. It went threw the sock so I couldn't see what was going on really. See tried to ease it out and it wouldn't budge. I said I'm gonna have to just yank it out. I think she cried more when I said that, than when I actually pulled it out. Lol. After I pulled it out she said it was a big relief though. Lol
But I think she will listen next time and keep her shoes on. They can go right threw ur shoes to but it's less likely anyway.
