    Sift & Surface Finds

    Here are my finds from this past weekend.
    I spent the day Saturday sifting the creek with my cousins, and went out for a bit of solo River walking on Sunday morning.

    Don't know who Ellen Tracy is, but it felt weird covering it up.


    These have me stoked because they show signs of work from two different eras.




    Some more nice tools:




    Here's a nice little flake blade that was found sifting a sand/gravel mix that was almost pure sand.


    Cant really tell from the pic, but this piece of chert has glitter type inclusions in it. First piece I've ever found like it.
    We're not hunting for the perfect arrowhead.......
    Arrowheads are hunting for the perfect people.

    Nice looking jasper niner. That glitter is probably quartz.

    Nice tools. I find tools with inclusions too. The crystals form in the space formally occupied by snails, clams, etc. This was ocean shallows roughly 70,000,000 years ago. Lower cretaceous. It would be great if they showed up in the photos.
