A few weeks ago, I discovered this item in central Illinois. I have found a number of a number of artifacts through the years, but never anything like this. I think it's a tomahawk. Would appreciate any further insights from the forum members.

Hello Ben and welcome. My opinion is that's a natural formation. I can't see any human alteration there.

Is the bit ground smooth to a sharp edge ?
