I wish Curtis Smith would give his opinion on what/where that stone came from....the stone is so unusual, to me at least. I have seen similar olive green stone with red tip on point, but the black color stone mixed with it has me stumped.

Anyone know where the stone is from??? Help!! Woody do you know?

I'd really like to know as well. I always assumed Edwards chert. It's definitely unlike anything else i have in my collection.

Great find! That is Woodford chert from Oklahoma. It probably was redeposited from the Johns Valley formation in southeast OK.

    Here is my take.
    Killer point btw
    With it being Woodford Chert.
Holland is a better candidate on the Type. Jmo
The Material and Pictures make it tough to see the Flaking pattern.
Holland in all of its Cody esk Flaking are Collateral to Oblique (Which I see.) Golindrina tends to be Random.
When typing points donít just look at the shape or outline,,Look closely at how it is made.
Iím going to be at the Midolothian Artifact Show Saturday May 5th. Iíd love to look at in in person
