A few members have asked about the different "member types" that exist in this community (contributing member, moderator, etc). Mostly these inquiries come up because people are interested in becoming a moderator or are curious as to what it takes to get an invitation to the Tribal Council. As such, here is a definitive listing of the member classifications and requirements at Arrowheadology:
- Member - This is a person who has registered for the community with a valid email address and participates according to the community guidelines (see separate post for these).
- Contributing Member - This is a person who is an active participant on the forums. Specifically, this member type contributes significant relevant content (e.g. 500+ content based posts, articles published on the main page, 100+ original gallery images, a high ratio of "thanked" posts, etc). These members also participate according to the community guidelines AND have received NO infractions.
- Tribal Council Member - This a Contributing Member that has been invited to participate in the Tribal Council, a private forum focused on special topics as well as on making Arrowheadology the best community on the Internet.
- Moderator - Moderators are Tribal Council members that are resources to new members and are available to answer general community related questions. They are also tasked with ensuring the community guidelines are upheld. They have "red pen" editing privaleges in the forums and can, for example, delete spam posts and move posts to more revlevant forums if necessary.
- Administrator - There are just 2 of these and they are the actual site founders.
