Additional Point types..Please.

In the galleries under the "projectile Points" Gallery I'd like to ask the following California Point types be added...:

1. Malaga Cove

2. Point Sal Barbed

3. Jalama Side Notched

4. Diablo Canyon Side Notched

5. Channel Islands Barbed

I have a number of Points in most of these types and would really like to post my Pictures in the gallery for others to see.. besides the fact I'd love seeing Other folks' Points of these various So Cal Types...

Thank You,
DEAN ~~~

Thank You!!!!!

Perhaps I could ask that You correct a Type-O on one of the So Cal points you already had in the List????

it's a Canalino Triangle.. not a Canalina...

Also, Here's one more California Point type that deserves to be in that List...

Sierra Contracting Stem

Thanks Again!!!,

DEAN ~~~~

how hard would it be to take the point types and divide them as the regions they are found...so that a point from the midwest that may look similar to one from the south west doesnt get mis-represented in someones collection if they are labeling.i think it would be easier to loacate specifics if it was set according to regions. like my general area is considered the midwest,iowa..illinois..missouri..kentucky...ohio.

that may be....but i would rather spend the time on here researching than to dig thru a book that will only show a few examples of each type, usually only th most perfect ones. i really dont want to pay $30 for a book that has more artifacts from areas that i dont collect than artifacts from where i do collect. i hear the overstreet is a good book to have,i would just rather be able to search on this forum where i spemd most of my time anyhow..lol

I see what you're saying. Something here to break things down into regions. That would be good.

BTW, Overstreet's is $21.11 at Amazon. I like it more for the descriptions of what each type is known for more than the pics. When your trying to determine between 2 or 3 types the "I.D Key" part is very helpful.

Yea, I don't know what ALL the point types are but with over 1,200 pages that are broken down into 10 regions(which creates some repeat types, like Clovis) it has over 12,000 actual size photos with approximate value ranges based on condition.

I think orders over $25 have free shipping at Amazon. When money is tight you hate to buy an additional cheap book but it's something to think about.

Each type is also listed with an Also See list of points which are similar to the ones you're looking at. The Period for each type is obviously listed.
