    Hi Jackie123! Welcome to the best artifact forum in the world!! My suggestion is to look at this site a LOT. Study the photos of artifacts. Notice (as Lillyput suggested) the materials and artifacts which are from your specific area. Communicate with those near you through private messages. Go to a show or visit a museum and really study the artifacts there. Once you start to develop and eye, look at the photos here especially marked "in situ" and do the "Where's Waldo" thing trying to find the artifact in the broad shots. You will get very good at it with these suggestions. I used to post a lot of pictures of rocks. I did what I"m suggesting to you and I know a rock from a "worked piece" at a glance.
