cool lookin snake there ShaunB......I like him/her?
That's me too. I don't mind snakes except for the initial startle of one being underfoot. The other time I don't like them is if I'm in water and one is making its way toward me.

But spiders.......... Yuk. I hate those suckers. I was influenced as a child by a babysitter who was terrified of them. I will pick up a grandaddy long legs or flick a little guy off of me but big ol' wolf spiders and even the big yellow/black garden spiders get a distant whack from me.

I've told the story before on here but the worst was when I shot one of the garden spiders with a bb gun and the guts flipped back on my face. I hit the ground like I was on fire. 30 years later and it still give me the creeps.

Had a friend with a boa and used to play with it a bit. Snakes are pretty cool but I'm not looking to own one.

try riding a 3 wheeler in an orange grove and hit a web like glue with a banana spider as big as your face stuck on it

Uhhhh....no. I'll put 3 wheeler riding in an orange grove on my list of things NEVER to do.

Love Those Snakes!!

I'm glad to see all the participation on this topic. Beyond artifacts and fossils, hunting snakes is my other passion. Check out the Reptiles and Amphibians section of my website for some pretty cool photographs of snakes. I find that Kansas is a great place to snake hunt, finding quite the variety, including copperheads, timber rattlers, rat snakes, gopher snakes, kingsnakes, garter snakes, etc...

I have to go with the lyrics from the old song, you know the one.

I don't like spiders or snakes

Those things just freak me out, spiders more than snakes. After a buddy of mine died from complications of a Brown Recluse bite I fear them even more. When something that small can take down a 175 lb man it's not something to mess with.

Next thing one of you is going to say you have Tarantulas and I'm done. lol
