Probably a elderly person trying to get their meds. Nice score on the coins.

Finally went through all the coins. Most don't have dates that are still legible. The dates that are, just common. Too bad but still happy about the finds.

    score

A thing about old worn money with little collector or remelt value, it is always worth its face value. I've a handful of buffaloes that are well worn, can't imagine spending, don't know what to do wi'em......
Here's what someone did when faced with the same dilemma. Mounted on sterling, coral and turquoise, all those nickels are now a prized example of vintage American Folk Art. A clever and talented artisan there, wish I could do something clever with mine.
A great score,Jim, hold on to them. MM

More than likely a thieving family member, unfortunately.

After double checking with a magnifying glass I found this. One of the few with a date is a 1937 with what looks to be an error through of America. Thoughts? The Wife Scores Big-20170219_210526-jpgThe Wife Scores Big-20170219_210538-jpgThe Wife Scores Big-20170219_210640-jpg

Not sure if that line across America is a known error but I would guess that what caused it shows up again behind the Buffaloes back side.

Here is a closer look. It seems the line goes across the whole "United States of America" and down past the tail.
