    ok true confessions:

i like gnarly rocks cuz they're more fun to mess with cuz the puzzles are complexerous.

i like big flakes, and i cannot lie...when you get to where you pretty much know for certain that you're gonna whack a huge, flat flake off'n a rock, it's dangnably fun. i mean, it's loud, and dramatic, etc. and when you do it whilst free-handing the work, you can feel the flake jump all the way across your hand and it's speshul. it's like the big ole flake leaped into your hand cuz yer its brutha from anutha mutha. yeah, yeah, sometimes you might be blood bruthas a bit but that goes with the territory. don't hit obliquely uncarefully and you won't get the slicing slide.

um, where was i in my rambling drivel? oh - i tend to like big bifaces and preforms and flakes, and blade-y flakes better than finished points.

    ok.

ok, i think i finally figured out how to make a big ole long knife without frettin' over what to call the back-end treatment! prolly wasn't my best idea ever cuz the rock was too big, too lumpy, and too bad, and i just decided to make things worse that i was just gonna direct percussion the thing in between cussing the thing, but here it is. and i call it....(wait for this...)....my "knobbed hard 'un".

Thats what happens when you give a kerrville one of those lil "blue pills"
"Even a rock will crumble if you strike it night and day, if hammer I must, I'm gonna get through your crust, gonna chip that stone away..."

At the risk of suffering from....ahem....envy, over the last post, I'll quietly submit all I could squeak out today. Just a little thing that might resemble a Clovis, made from a Georgetown spall.
