Never the first

Just when you start to think you're the first person to roam deep in any particular area, you're often reminded that you aren't.

I certainly wasn't deep into it last weekend as I was riding my bike above the Pedernales River. I was quite suprised to run up on this old relic!

That's cool Shannon. Do you think it's part of an old truck or a car? Also, what are the red things? Are they edible?

The cactus fruit is edible. Prickly pears are pretty common here and you see prickly pear margarhitas, 'lemonade', and other concoctions.

I believe it is an old Model T. Would like to know how it came to rest there.

And yes, it is possible to carry digging tools on a bike although not on this ride.

Thanks for the comments.

Shannon

I think the cactus is called a Devils pin cushon in this country. I have also herd them called a candy cactus and a horse crippler.
