In The Forest..

Got into some seal today. Day 1 of several to come. Walk in took 30 minutes so I was tired before I got started, even though I walked kinda slow. In the pictures is 2 seperate patches one big patch and one super huge patch. Around these patches are about 20 more misc size patches. Too bad they are going to log this and I can't save them to dig when they are seeding. Maybe I'll find some flint here when they clearcut. I've seen the markers where they will be and its going to be a big one. I estimate around 6 -7000 plants went into my bags today. I stayed until I could barely see almost forgetting I had a good walk ahead of me to get out. Although I complained to myself all day about bugs and this that and the other, it was well worth it as I walked out watching the sun go down. The scenery was so nice I forgot about all the weight I was carrying and that seemed to get me out without too much stress.

In The Forest Day II..

More of the same long walk, long dig. Went in a different area than yesterday, took 30 minutes to get in again. Found a broke crude knife on deer trail goin in and on the way out I found a neat scraper on same trail different spot. Yesterday it was flies today it was mosquitos, good thing I was expecting rain and took my raincoat, because It helped keep the mosquitos off. That made for some sweaty digging (had the hood on too). Better than getting ate up though. Clouded up towards evening and finally rained while I was walking out. A nice refreshing little drizzle. I slowly headed out at 730 pulled out on the road at 830. As tired as I was and carrying weight I just didn't wanna leave so I looked at any dirt showing and just took my time this vening was nicer than yesterday. I estimate 5-6000 plants today just a little less than yesterday but bigger roots in this area the dirt is looser.
