Kid pitching for the Reds.

Anyone watching any reds games to see Aroldis Chapman ? He threw 105 mph in a AAA game in Louisville oer the weekend. Just called up two days ago to the Reds. Consistently throwing 102-104 mph. Kid has got a gun.

Sorry Gibby I have been to busy watch My Rangers do thier "Famous End Reg. Season Backslide,,,Playing thier way right out of my attention span.,,Thanks for putting him in my radar..Usually I don't start watching the NL. standings until post season starts. But a Lefty from Cuba that throws an avereage 100 mph+,,,is something to watch...Could be the making of an American Dream/////c

I follow the Rangers too. Probably the main reason being Nolan Ryan. Still love when Ventura charged the mound on him. Nolan beat lumps on his forehead.

I have been waiting on my Reds to pull what your Rangers are doing. That seems to be the regular with them. Good luck to your Rangers. Maybe a Rangers / Reds world series.

He has handled it so far. Only pitched three innings in the bigs so far. No hits so far. Seems very mature as do most the cuban defectors. Seems to be very grateful to get a chance to like you said earlier have the " american dream ". They had to bring him up the other day so he could be eligible for the postseason roster. Should be interesting to say the least. Good luck to your Rangers.

Yeah, I saw that kid pitch against my Brewers the other night. I pitched myself for a lot of years. I just a couple years ago began sleeping with my arm tucked under the pillow. Before that I had to hang it over the side of the bed because my shoulder still hurt so bad. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to this Cuban kid as what happened to Strassburg. Otherwise he'll be visiting the hospital for Tommy John surgery. It puts a lot of stress on your arm and shoulder when you throw that hard. I enjoyed the old "junk ball" guys much more from years ago.

I am with you on that chert. The Strausburg thing is horrible. When I was younger and pitching it was always the " junk " they told me would hurt my arm. Seems to be a changing a bit now. I would much rather see a guy throw a good knuckleball than a fastball anyday.
