Federal/State Laws

How about a forum or sub-forum dedicated to all Federal/State laws concerning digging/ collecting etc... and links? Each state could have it's own thread and they could then be updated as each law becomes progressively more restrictive until we can't dig for boogers in our own noses. lol

Not sure you can dig in your own nose here in Oregon anymore. I know for certain you cannot pick your nose while driving even with a card carryin' Noseologist riding shotgun.

Good idea, I just cringe every time I see more restrictions.

i think this should be looked into. as more and more people join this forum we all find ourselves being asked the same questions from people that are new to the hobby. so it would be easy enough to get the info and set a page up that is state and government laws for each state. i know there is enough people in the forums to come up with all the info needed to do this. i remember when i first started on the forum and had to keep asking someone questions...mainly because when i read the laws they were written for someone of much greater schooling than myself....so if the laws could be put down on here and then possibly even broken down into terms that everyone of any age or education level can understand...things would be easier for new comers and for people who may move from one state to another...or collect in multiple states

This link says what most would already know but could be of help to them in tracking down more specific information with the law references.

well

I know that digging on state land or digging in a burial is surely forbidden here but, Im not sure about say digging a campsite. I heard that in the 80's there used to be ads in the paper saying "come dig my buffalo waller" somewhere around here. Ive never tried it but I also heard about a guy that was laying tile in a field, and while cutting the trench through the buffalo waller, he found a whole cigar box full of points!
