I played hooky this afternoon from work and checked out some new cut roads at my regular spot, Turkey Point. We have experienced a great deal of rain recently which makes the quartz artifacts sort of jump out at you. The corner notched and the Stanley are both made from rhyolite which is a little harder to spot. I went slow and didn't cover a lot of ground, however, that decision paid off. Stanleys are named after Stanley Co., NC where Professor Coe excavated the Hardaway site. For whatever reason, in my area, Stanleys are rare compared to Morrow Mountains, Savanah Rivers, Guilfords, etc. so I got a pretty good rush when I picked up this whole one. Thanks for letting me share.

I think the two of us have worked out the issue but I think it's important that I say this too everyone. I should never have jumped on you publicly and I apologize for that profusely. If I have a concern in the future about anyone I will try and privately work it out before airing my laundry. Thanks for being classy and talking it out with me, I will try hard and do the same with you and everyone else.

Being in the restoration business we are bless to handle so many unbelievable artifacts for a short visit. Some just come in for a visit not requiring any broke legs or arms to be attended to. Such is the case with this awesome Clay (type) knife, last night. They are very hard to find in this size and especially so in having both wings. Normally they are always missing a wing, it was just the result of how they were used. Thought I would share what I got to enjoy. Someday the computer will allow one to reach in the screen and actually handle it....lol

Got some rain. I just had 30 minutes to hunt and I only found one point with a broken tip...but as I walking out I saw something much more modern sticking out of the mud. Turns out it was a Nikon range finder. It was completely caked and I figured I'd just throw it out when I got home. I couldn't believe it when I turned it on and it still worked! It cleaned up just like new. Great testimonial for Nikon...it says waterproof, and it certainly is. Had to have been there since last hunting season.

Odd thing is I already have the exact same model. I haven't checked to make sure mine is packed away...though I don't bow hunt that spot so I'm sure it's not.
