Is it wrong for me to take pleasure in other's pain?

I never heard of American Digger magazine and I don't like the American Digger show. Don't think they have much to stand on in this lawsuit. One is a magazine, one a tv show. Depends if the magazine copyrighted the terms "American Digger" and "American Digger Magazine". Everyone is looking for ratings and press.

The mag was kinda like W & E Treasures. When it came out a number years ago, I kind of winced at the name. They could have called it American Treasures or something. Whether they win or not, they will still be associated with Savage's show.

I'm not a fan of the tv show "American Digger" either. Come across as very greedy to me. They would be a great example of a "Frank" type.

I wish the name of the show was the biggest problem.

Staging finds and giving unreasonable valuations makes my skin crawl. Not to mention giving the impression that seekers of such items are in it for the money.

There are SO many "reality" shows now it's overwhelming. The legitimacy is falling fast. I'm aware of a firearms collector who was contacted by Pawn Stars to loan two guns that were brought in by a third party. An "expert" was brought in to talk about the guns. Who was the expert??? The guy who owned the guns. Pitiful.

I'll admit to liking some of these shows, like Dual Survival, but only for tidbits of good info. Not for the clogging drama. Thank goodness for DVRs and the ability to fast forward through the mud.

I've got a good friend that is a star of one of these popular reality shows, and he laughs and tells me how absolutely phony it is. At first it made him sick, but then payday hit and now he's along for the ride and treats it like a good-paying job. But yup, just about 100% of it is staged. Anything but "reality."
