Obsidian cache

My great uncle, Carlton Godwin gave me these. He lived in El Paso, and told me he found them "south of town" when he went on a week long bass fishing trip in the 50's.The desert patina won't wash off.

Now that I've regained some composure..Tell me what are these typed as? Never seen anything like them..Were they actually knives or points? They don't look very durable so I was inclined to say they were something special.

Unique indeed. Any idea how far south? Those are some impressive blades...the notched/stemmed bases I've never seen before. Interested to learn more.

Thanks for showing.

I'm just going to say it. I can't believe those are real. Incredible if they are.

Doc..I love that you will say what I think of saying and it always comes out without sounding offensive...that's a good quality

It crossed my mind but one factor that always gives artifacts like this some credibility to me is they are not "perfect" and many seem represented in various stages as is often seen in caches of blade blanks ect.

I have not seen many Fakes that are missing tips, having hinges and cortex left amongst the flaking ect. Then again I haven't seen many fakes

Is the Patina on one side or both?
