Nice materials. Imo they are flakes driven off a core or chunk of material. Knocked off cortex and inclusions to get to the pure stuff.
I agree with Ghost recon I looks to me like they were driven off a core. You can clearly see in the photo the bulb of percussion. I do not see any further work done to the edges. Beautiful material.

the place that coral comes from I dive all the time, I live on that river( I wish) I burn alot of tanks there. THose are just broken chunks off the coral head, its druzy coral. VERY RARE to find a point from this becuase the actual coral is so thin on the walls. I find tons of this coral, yours are just pieces broken off. Heres the difference between the 2 types of coral found there

Yeah, well I did grow up on that river. And i agree this stuff is almost impossible to work, but every once in a while i find a tool made from it.Next time you are up here, give me a call, and you can examine these personally. Here is a nice denticulate made off a botryoidal piece, unless ya'll think that bifacial edge is an act of God.

there are worked pieces from this out there, those indians were opportunist. They would use anything and everything, I have seen tools made from this rock before. Where you at up there? north of Clyatville rd?

no, I dive with one dude only and we trust each other on spots we find. Serious competition on those rivers, we mainly run below 6 south of you but have been up there alot after my neighbor Rick started showing what he was finding up there.

I haven't eaten lunch yet, so I was thinking the same thing!

Thank you for showing those large chunks of agatized coral!! I have often wondered how large those types of lithic could be found. It is beautiful material and I would die if an artifact made from coral where to by found lying around my desert valley.
