    Atlatl spurs

There was a thread in the "What in the world" about possible atlatl spurs. Here's a few I've found over the years. There are several styles represented. They were all found in Calif. The photos are out of order. Photo #! and #5 show two sides of probably my favorite one. Notice the collar on top and the groove on the underside. Made from a salt and pepper granite. I'm very curious if anybody else had found atlatl spurs, I do know most were made from bone or made into one end of the atlatl. Maybe the detachable atlatl spur is only found on the west coast, mainly in Calif. Atlatl spurs-cam_1070-jpg

That second one sure looks like a spur, any way to see it at different angles.

Fantastic artifacts, especially the carved granite one! I think I found one like the one in pic #6.

Not a very good photo. I'm still not too sure about it.
