lol.....awesome Mud, it looks like I fall into the "yellow" category and hopefully will stay out of the "red".....no gaurantees though. I think I should get a bonus point for being in the north east as the artifact hunting here is less than optimal.....I just gotta move or at least visit somewhere that there are actually artifacts to be found!

This summer I've hunted about 200 acres of fields. About 95% of the 50 or so artifacts I have found have come from areas totalling about 3 acres. Spot checking and doing research on terrain/location seems to be the key to me.

I am lucky if I have 2-6 hours per week to hunt and the fields are prime for only so many weeks out of the year so I credit the information I've gotten here, Google maps/earth and a good bit of luck.

I would say that after the crops are out I will only cover 10 acres but I already know the spots are good. The rest... if there have been no flakes, brokes, cores, anything... I'm not going back to those areas.

Thanks John and comanche.....thats the great thing about this forum, making friends that are willing to help out a fellow forum member even though you've never met in person. It says alot about you both!....I had met up with KentLangreder in my area a month or so ago when he was out my way and took him to a couple of spots, it was great meeting him as I'm sure we would have fun as well. If I get the opportunity, I will certainly take you guys up on such a terriffic offer....Thanks!

Mud, ya up for a roadtrip?

Usually, the red light contains some orange in its hue, and the green light contains some blue, to provide some support for people with red-green color blindness
So Mudhawk,,,this is why you like this system
