Plow skid marks
Does anyone know a way to remove those rusty metallic streak marks caused by plows? I only ever use water and a toothbrush to clean my relics, but I have a really nice piece with several of these skid marks on it. I also don't want to stain or ruin the piece with chemical cleaners. Any tricks of the trade out there? Or should I just leave it be?

Vinegar might work.

Thanks guys, I think I am gonna leave it be. I don't want to muck it up.
I Have a little white quartz cobble with a rust skid on it, I may try the vinegar on that piece first. Will let you guys know if I do. I will do some observations with a loupe before and after... Thanks all. |

Change your diet to something with a little less fiber. Try boxers instead of whity tighties. You should notice a decrease in skid marks.

I would also leave them on and not worry about removing them, it kind of adds authenticity to the piece but someone probably has come up with a way to artificially add those to a piece also.
