Stolen Points!

A good friend of mine in Fannet, TX just had several hundred artifacts stolen from a gun safe in his office. He was in the process of moving and stored the safe in his office until he could get it into his new home. It had all of his guns, lifetime collection of artifacts, and about $40,000 in rare coins. They came into the office with a cutting torch and cut the safe open and stole everything except the guns. Most all of the artifacts were from Hondo, TX or Web and La Salle county. He didn't keep a very good record of what he had but if anyone runs across a collection of types from those areas try to get pictures or any info. Probably a lost cause but you never know. He had some VERY NICE perds and montells in the collection along with every other type.

If he has any pictures of any of the pieces he needs to post them so we can be on the look out for them. I doubt any would show up in my area, but they could end up on Ebay or other auctions sites that we all frequent and we could keep an eye out for them. This a collectors worst nightmare. I believe I would go to jail for manslaughter if I caught some low life SOB trying to steal my collection. This is one of the reasons I have pictures of just about everything I own.

Yea, I've been after him for years to let me help him go through them and organize and get pictures. He kept them in that safe and kept making excuses. I hate it happened.

That really sucks man sorry to hear that. You would think a gun safe would be ,well SAFE. Guess not.
There were three awesome frames of Texas points on Craig's list in Austin last week for $2,200 and I would have bought them but didn't have the extra bread at the time. They were only up for one day because it was an awesome deal. 100 points and they were mostly Perds, Montells, Langtry's and a few blades, one big nice Friday blade.

I could be an inside job if he talked about his relics/coins alot at work. Someone from the office that knew about his awesome collection. Especially if it was in the office for only a few days. Hate to say it, but are there any known meth/cocaine/crack heads that work there?

Then again, people on the street could have seen it being moved into the office as well. Since it also contained several guns, it had to be somewhat noticable in size. I bet they left the guns because that would be a whole new realm of sentencing if they were caught.

My deepest regards to your friend. How horrible.

If you can, let us know what coins were stolen as well. There's a coin dealer in my area that I evaluate artifacts for. We'll be on the lookout for them in case they make it up this way.

When someone stole some of my Guns a few years ago, I went to every Pawn shop in 50 miles of me and gave them discriptions and ser numbers. Within two days I got a call from a near by sheriffs office saying they were caught and had all my guns. One of the pawn shops recognized the discriptions and called local law. My point is have your friend do some of the leg work, most pawn shops will keep a look out.
