All of those lucky enough to discover any treasure, please document them by several photos both close-up and any reference or panorama of the location, of course not to discover location but a documentation of site profile. Story lines are also important describing the day in any detail and description of discoveries.

"Two mineralologists have examined the pieces pictured here and have confirmed the material as Texas Topaz."

May I ask how? Easy enough to confirm it is topaz, but I'm afraid topaz does not have enough chemical markers to pinpoint an origin.

I am looking forward to reading and viewing photos of discoveries. Even in any publication I come across viewing arrowheads and other artifacts, usually displays a photo of a great object and dimensions yet no story of it's discovery. I only try to imagine the conditions of the day, the field of search, and the stories of every field furrow. In my case rivers were very interesting and have discovered many treasures including fossils. My web-blog offers many photos and stories of my discoveries. "After the fields stop producing 'go to the rivers, the gravel bars, 'Paleo' blades were my most common types in river findings.!"

I agree with you guys...so with that how about some help for an out of towner. I am stationed in McAllen, Texas for two long months and am looking for a
location to spend a day surface hunting or digging. I hunt points in Georgia and
understand how hard it is to find locations or individuals who are willing to
take someone with them. Most of the guys sell points but do you know of anyone
who would even charge to take a gent arrow head hunting in central to south Texas. Seems hard not
to pursue the hobby in such a culturally rich area.

Any help would be deeply appreciated,

Thanks,
Charles
